- What the panels measure
- The Theory radar charts on each faction dossier score offensive output against five reference target archetypes and durability against five reference threat archetypes. The ten baselines below are Archive-defined reference profiles, not Games Workshop datasheets.
- Light Infantry — target archetype
- Cheap, lightly-armoured swarms with lots of bodies. Examples: Termagants, Cultist Mob, Boyz. Baseline: T3 Sv5+ W1, 10-model squad.
- MEQ (Marine-equivalent) — target archetype
- Standard power-armoured infantry, the bread-and-butter of the game. Examples: Tactical Marines, Intercessors, Warriors. Baseline: T4 Sv3+ W2, 5-model squad.
- Heavy Infantry (Heavy infantry / elite) — target archetype
- Tough, expensive, durable infantry with invulnerable saves. Examples: Custodian Guard, Terminators, Possessed. Baseline: T6 Sv2+ Inv4+ W3, 3-model squad.
- Light Vehicle (Light vehicle / transport) — target archetype
- Mobile transports and lighter walkers. Examples: Rhinos, Wave Serpents, Sentinels. Baseline: T8 Sv3+ W10, single model.
- Heavy Vehicle (Heavy vehicle / monster) — target archetype
- Tanks, monsters, and knights. Examples: Land Raiders, Hierodules, Imperial Knights. Baseline: T11 Sv2+ Inv5+ W22, single model.
- Small Arms — threat archetype
- Standard infantry shooting; bolters, lasguns, autoguns. Lots of average shots that chip through wounds. Examples: Bolter, lasgun, autogun. Baseline: S4 AP0 D1, 2 attacks per attacker.
- MEQ-Killer — threat archetype
- Anti-Marine workhorses; cuts through power armour but does not crack tanks. Examples: Heavy bolter, plasma weapons, heavy stubber. Baseline: S5 AP1 D2, 2 attacks.
- Armour Cracker — threat archetype
- Anti-light-vehicle weapons; punches through 3+ saves and threatens transports. Examples: Meltagun at short range, krak missile, autocannon. Baseline: S10 AP3 D3, 1 attack.
- Anti-Tank — threat archetype
- Dedicated tank-hunters. Examples: Lascannon, las-talon, dedicated heavy weapons. Baseline: S14 AP3 D6, 1 attack.
- Knight-Killer — threat archetype
- Top-tier anti-armour; weapons designed to one-shot heavy titans. Examples: Melta-tier weapons, lance-tier weapons. Baseline: S16 AP4 D6+2, 1 attack.
